Creative games for young kids
Here are some creative games that a 6-10 year old kid might enjoy:
Charades: Have your child act out a word or phrase while others try to guess what they are acting out.
Pictionary: This is similar to Charades, but instead of acting out the word or phrase, your child will have to draw it.
Scavenger Hunt: Create a list of items for your child to find around the house or yard. You can make it more challenging by providing clues or riddles.
Storytelling: Have your child make up a story, either alone or with a group of friends or family members. You can give them a prompt to help get their creativity flowing.
Building challenge: Challenge your child to build something out of materials around the house, such as Lego, blocks or cardboard boxes. You can even give them a theme, such as "build a castle" or "build a robot."
Paper airplane competition: Have your child create different paper airplanes and see which one flies the farthest or fastest.
Dance party: Put on some music and have a dance party with your child. You can even make it a themed dance party, such as 80s or disco.
Board games: There are plenty of creative and fun board games available for children, such as "Blokus," "Ticket to Ride," "Catan Jr," and "Qwirkle."
Drawing challenges: Give your child a drawing prompt, such as "draw a funny monster" or "draw a scene from outer space." You can also have them draw with their non-dominant hand to make it more challenging.
Imagination games: Encourage your child to use their imagination to come up with their own creative games. For example, they could create their own board game or come up with their own version of a game they already know.
