Ideas for kids parties
Here are some of my favorite games ideas for a kids party:
Pin the Tail on the Donkey - Hang up a picture of a donkey without its tail, blindfold the kids, and have them try to pin the tail on the donkey.
Treasure Hunt - Create a treasure map with clues that lead kids around the house or yard to find hidden treasures.
Egg and Spoon Race - Give each kid a spoon and an egg. They must race to the finish line without dropping the egg.
Limbo - Play music and have kids take turns trying to limbo under a pole without touching it.
Photo Booth - Set up a photo booth with props and costumes for kids to take fun pictures.
Musical Chairs - Play music and have kids walk around chairs. When the music stops, they must sit in a chair. The one without a chair is out.
Minute to Win It Games - Set up various challenges such as stacking cups, blowing up balloons, or tossing balls into a basket. Kids must complete the challenge in one minute or less.
Face Painting - Hire a face painter to paint kids' faces with their favorite designs.
Some of the other games to make party more fun:Â
Scavenger Hunt - Create a list of items for the kids to find around the house or in the backyard. The first one to find all the items on the list wins!
Charades - Write down some fun activities or things on small pieces of paper, and have kids take turns acting them out while others guess what they're acting.
Simon Says - Choose a leader to give commands, such as "Simon says touch your toes" or "Simon says jump up and down." Kids should only follow the command if it starts with "Simon says."
Red Light, Green Light - Choose one person to be "it" and stand at the end of the room or yard. When they say "green light," kids can move towards the person. When they say "red light," kids must stop moving. The first one to reach "it" wins!
Balloon Volleyball - Use a balloon as a volleyball and have kids try to keep it from hitting the ground.
Freeze Dance - Turn on some music and have kids dance. When the music stops, everyone must freeze in place. Anyone who moves is out.
Puzzle Race - Give each kid a puzzle of the same size and difficulty level. The first one to complete their puzzle wins!
